TERMS AND CONDITIONS
⚠️ Failure to Comply
To ensure safety and fairness for all customers, Malama Trash Services reserves the right to:
Leave trash behind if it is not properly bagged, overweight, or contains prohibited items.
Charge an extra handling fee for unsafe or excessive trash taken at our discretion.
Suspend or cancel service if repeated violations occur without refund for that period.
We’re happy to work with customers to fix issues, but continued non-compliance affects our ability to serve everyone efficiently.
🏷️ Rates:
$40/month + tax (Hilo)
$45/month + tax (outer areas)
Includes up to 100 gallons of bagged trash per week (That’s about 7 kitchen-size 13-gallon bags, 3 large 33-gallon bags, or 2 extra-large 50-gallon bags)
Need more room? ➕ Add another 100 gallons/week for $25/month
♻️ Occasional extra? Just $1 per 10 gallons over your limit
⚠️ Only the set limit will be picked up. Extra bags will be left curbside unless pre-arranged. If extra is taken, you will be charged accordingly.
🗑️ Trash Guidelines:
All trash MUST be bagged and tied securely.
Animal waste bags must be double bagged inside a larger bag.
Only oversized boxes may be broken down and placed beside bags.
No loose items — prevents litter, pests, and fines.
Each bag must weigh under 20 lbs (light enough to lift with one hand).
Customers are responsible for cleaning up any scattered trash caused by pets or loose items before pickup.
⏰ Pickup Schedule:
Trash must be curbside before 6:00 AM on pickup day. (To be safe, put it out the night before.)
Pickup times may vary due to routing.
Missed Pickup Policy:
If trash is not out on time, it won’t be picked up until your next scheduled service.
📅 Holidays & Weather:
Service runs on most holidays.
Any schedule changes will be announced in advance.
Severe weather, flooding, or road closures may delay service. We’ll notify you of reschedules.\
🚗 Curbside Only:
Trash must be placed roadside for pickup.
Please use your own trash bins or securely tied bags.
(We do not currently provide bins, but branded options may be offered in the future).
Malama Trash Services is not liable for damage to bags, bins, or items left curbside due to animals, weather, or non-compliance with service guidelines.
🏡 Make Sure We Can Find You:
House numbers must be clearly visible from the street.
🚫 What We Don’t Accept:
We do not pick up the following items:
TVs, tires, appliances, or furniture Hazardous waste (paint, oil, chemicals, flammables, etc.)
Construction debris, metal, or sharps (needles, broken glass, etc. unless sealed in a safe container)
Liquids of any kind
🐶 Safety First:
All pets must be secured on pickup days.
Our team cannot collect trash if animals are loose.
📦 Bulk & Special Services:
Large item pickups (mattresses, appliances, furniture) available by request for an additional fee.
Event overflow (parties, clean-outs, etc.) → contact us for a one-time extra pickup quote.
💳 Billing & Payments:
Auto-payments run on the 1st of each month
Payment must be received by the 5th to avoid service interruption
Late Fee:
$10 if unpaid after the 5th
Reactivation Fee:
$15 if service is canceled for non-payment and restarted later
🔁 Cancellations & Refunds:
No contracts — cancel anytime
To cancel or transfer service, contact us before your next billing cycle
Prorated refunds available if canceled before mid-month
Service suspended for non-payment resumes once balance is cleared
🔐 Payment Security:
We accept cash, credit/debit cards, or bank transfers
For your safety, we do not accept payment info by text or email
Please call us or use our secure online form to set up payments
⭐ Satisfaction Promise:
If we ever miss your pickup due to our mistake, we’ll make it right within 24 hours at no extra charge.
